Bioptimus Secures Access to NVIDIA Compute Resources to its Accelerate Foundation Model for Biology
Bioptimus, a trailblazer in AI-driven biological modeling, today announced it will get access to compute resources through NVIDIA DGX Cloud Lepton — an AI platform that connects developers to global GPU compute.
Enabled through a strategic collaboration between Sofinnova Partners, a key Bioptimus backer, and GPU capacity credits from NVIDIA, this access to accelerated compute resources will empower Bioptimus to scale training of its foundation model for biology using some of the most advanced AI infrastructure available globally.
Jean-Philippe Vert, CEO and co-founder of Bioptimus:
“We’re building an AI foundation model capable of understanding and engineering biology at scale. “Access to compute resources through NVIDIA DGX Cloud Lepton gives us the tools to unlock biological insights that could otherwise be out of reach.”
DGX Cloud Lepton offers developers and AI researchers scalable access to NVIDIA GPUs across a worldwide network of cloud providers. The platform also integrates with the full NVIDIA AI software suite — including NVIDIA NIM microservices, NVIDIA NeMo, and NVIDIA Cloud Functions — creating an end-to-end environment for model training, inference, and deployment.
With this support, Bioptimus will accelerate development of its biology foundation model — a system designed to ingest and reason over multi-modal biological data, from DNA sequences and protein structures to cellular interactions and phenotypes. The model is being built to transform our understanding of human biology and unlock a new generation of intelligent tools to drive progress in health, medicine, and beyond.
Rodolphe Jenatton, CTO at Bioptimus:
“This level of compute access is a game-changer. It enables us to scale experiments across billions of biological tokens and train models that generalize across vastly different biological contexts.”
The support from NVIDIA and Sofinnova Partners reflects a shared commitment to fostering an ecosystem of startups building domain-specific foundation models — and accelerating the pace of AI innovation in critical fields like the life sciences.
